ladies and gentlemen,
i have had a lot of teachers in my school who have given me much help in my study.
for their help i will never forget them.
but today i am going to talk about a special teacher of mine.
this teacher is not a human being and its name is“computer”.
it has been teaching me a lot of knowledge and i appreciate it very much.
with the development of modern science and technology, computers are widely used in every teritories (1) including education.
how can a computer be my teacher? how does a computer teach me? multimedia(多媒体)helps a lot in this aspect in recent years, and computer-based training (cbt) has become a popular educational medium (手段).
even before the multimedia come (2) up, many different learning systems appeared, using the components and techniques we now associate with the term “multimedia”.
multimedia components, such as graphics (动画) , animations , sound and video, make the learning process easier through visualization.
animations can present many complex subjects dynamically, but human teachers can not do this on blackboards.
multimedia makes our study more lively and interesting.
for example, a cd-rom disk named “encarta encyclopedia” contains 650 mb information including images, graphics, music clips, video clips, animations , texts, hotwords, and database search functions.
fields involved includes physical sciences, performance arts, social sciences, politics, military, education and so on.
when pressing a button, i can hear american president clintons speech clip.
i may enjoy playing all kinds of musical instruments in the world.
i can also see the animation of many physical phenomena.
this makes physical concept to be understood deeply (3).
the audio features of multimedia can greatly help me learning (4) foreign languages.
with its speech output capabilities, im no longer dependent on an instructor for proper pronunciation.
how can i interact with a computer? there are many ways, including keyboard, mouse pointer, and touch screen.
i often use a keyboard.
when i press right keys, i can see and hear whatever i want.
information world is at my fingertip.
i wish that true speech input-output system would be invented one day.
as teachers, computers have a lot of virtues： they are positive, they have good memories and never lose any information stored in them.

On January 13, Jin Weijie, a teacher from Longhua Chinese-English Experimental School in Baoan rushed to save four primary school students and sacrifice herself.
On March 31, a traffic accident happened in Jiangsu Province, once again, a primary school teacher, Yin Xuemei, saved six primary school students’ lives, while losing her own.
This touched my heart deeply.
Who is the greatest? The teacher! If it was me, if I happened to be there, I would do the same thing, because I am a teacher, too.
Working as a teacher, maybe there is nothing special in their life.
But we have a belief deep within, that is --we must protect our students, keep our children safe, we won’t let any of them get hurt.
Just as what the commissioner of education in Jiangsu Province said: “The accident happened so quickly, it happened in a flick of an eye, there is no time to think about it or hesitate, saving the others is an instinctive action.
She did it only because she was of great stature.
She forgot about herself in the heat of the moment.
There is no doubt, teachers are worth all respect! Teachers are selfless! They impart knowledge to the students, they offer ways and skills of learning to their students, and they offer their lives with no hesitancy when necessary! So I am proud of being a teacher.
I like students, teaching will be my life-time career.
Choosing the right career is very important, most of us spend a great part of our lives doing jobs.
Some of us have become very successful.
Mainly because they have chosen appropriate careers which match their talents and stimulate their interests .
I prefer teaching English.
English is my favorite.
In my opinion, teaching English is more wonderful than any other subject.
There are thousands of different languages in the world.
Which language is the mostimportant? As we know, English is an international language, and it could be used all over the world.
English is becoming more and more important and popular in China.
We adults learn English, school students learn English, even the babies in the kindergarten learn English.
It’s a necessary language if you want to go abroad, It’s an essential quality for the researchers to get the latest information in the world quickly.
In an age of fast communication, if we want to learn about the outside world, English is definitely the language we should know.
Lets take a look at a practical viewpoint, if youre looking for a job that can provide you a good position and a high salary, understanding English often makes it much easier.It cant be denied that English is very important if you want to make a good living.
English is a very important language no matter what you do or where you go, Millions of people would like to master English, but it’s not a piece of cake.
So being an English teacher is good.
I am fortunate that I can express my opinions in English.
So I am lucky I can teach English.
Furthermore, Being an English teacher, I am very content.
I am so grateful to have a life that is filled with teenagers’ trust and love.
When my students answer my questions correctly, when they discuss passionately, when they communicate with foreigners fluently, when I see the slowest in thought make progress, I know I have done a great job.
Nothing can replace my pleasure.
So being an English teacher, I have got fantastic pleasure.
It is English that makes my life wonderful.
It is English that makes me feel confident.
It is English that makes me different
If there is another chance for me to choose my occupation, I won’t choose anything except being an English teacher.

Good morning , honored judges .It is my greatest honor to be here today. I would like to share my English learning and teaching experience with you .
I could remember English has been my favorite since my junior high school. At that time I had a dream that one day my job must be something that connects with English.
After graduating from University, I started my career in teaching English. Only then did I realize the true creed of being an English teacher. Besides teaching a foreign language, an English teacher can also help students learn and understand more about a very different culture. In addition, if knowledge is a bridge to success, then an English teacher must be a bridge for students to learn a foreign language, a bridge to aid students’ communication with foreigners, a bridge to share our Chinese culture with others.
Learning English should be fun and exciting and must not be boring or with a sense of failure .After becoming an English teacher, I do whatever I can to make my class lively and instructive. I think, to be a good English teacher, he should know his subject well. His personality is as important as his knowledge. A good English teacher must be enthusiastic. He must love his students and respect them. In addition, he must also respect himself and take pride in his work. A good English teacher should be kind, encouraging, and helpful and he should motivate his students to seek knowledge.
I am very content for being an English teacher. I am so grateful to have a life that is filled with teenagers’ love and trust. My English teacherMy English teacher is slim and beautiful. She is in her thirties with curly,short hair. She has been teaching in this school for about ten years. She is kind,generous, friends and intellegent. Of course she is very strict with us.
She likes reading books and traveling. She knows so much that she always makes her class interesting and lively. She ofen lets us watching PPT, short English movies and descuss in class so that we all have chance to speak English and know the background of Europe and America.
She is our best friend,too. When we have any difficulties wheather they are about English or our lives, she can always give us good suggestion. She works so hard that sometimes she has no time to rest herself. Sometimes she has to prepare the lesson and read our test paper till late at night. I still remember when she first became my English teacher, I was weak in it and always worried. She talked with me for a long time on how to learn English and lent me some books. Besides she often helped me with my English after school. With her help, I made great progress and I could caught up with others. Now I am good at English and I thank her very much. This is my English teacher who is lovely and kind. So we all love her very much.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, it’s a great honor to speak here: I am an English teacher.
People often say: Teacher is the engineer of human spirit. Last September, I became a teacher. How to become a real teacher? This is the first difficulty that I come across in my career. At first, I felt so good and fun to stay with so many lovely students, then I integrated with them, and soon, the problem came out. If a teacher can’t set up her dignity in front of the students, it will make the class teaching more difficult. In my lessons, the students often kept on talking, acting, and asking questions. What should I do? I can’t get along with them like this any more. I must be strict with them. Pay more attention to what should be praised, what should be criticized. Any carelessness is not permitted. At last, the class discipline became better.
Nowadays, the importance of learning English is obvious. The world becomes globalization and unify. The association of each country is closer and closer. People call the earth as a global village. English is the first current language in the international world. The communication of politics, economy and culture is upon English. As we know, we will take a beating if we lay behind. How to catch up with the world? That is, study English well to gain the first hand data. The entrance of WTO, the Olympic Games which will be held in 2008, shows that we must learn English well as quickly as possible. Forcing study won’t stay in the heart, feeding knowledge into the brain won’t get a good result, and high mark isn’t our teaching goal. To get a satisfied effect, we should make the students learn on their own initiative. How to make them feel interested in studying English? I think the key point is the teaching design. It must be vivid and vigorous. We can change our study contents into games, performances, competitions and so on. Let them believe English is easy and funny.
As the step of history is advancing, the demand of English teaching is changeable. The junior students are not what we know as before. They have a lot of knowledge, and are good at combining English with other subjects, such as history, geography, physics, chemistry and so on. Their English level is higher than what we thought. Many of them started learning English in their primary school. So English teacher should pursue advanced studies constantly, and master the latest teaching materials and methods to meet today’s demands.
I feel very happy to be an English teacher. I will do my best to teach English well with my knowledge, my patience and my enthusiasm. Make Chinese speak English better, and show their ability and talent in the world stage. I am proud to tell you: I am an English teacher.
